Full job descriptionThe Medical Training Institute of New York invites applications for a Part-Time Adjunct Professor in General Physics. Part-time adjuncts are contracted term-by-term based on course/section need and availability.Position TitleAdjunct Instructor-General PhysicsPart-Time32.00 -38.00 Per HourJob Responsibility Teaches all courses as assigned by the Department Chair or Coordinator. Maintains attendance and punctuality. Maintains a professional appearance at all times. Prepares course syllabi (if not provided by the Department). Meets all scheduled classes on the assigned day /time. Uses scheduled class time appropriately. Demonstrates a professional attitude, philosophy, and commitment that promotes student growth and learning. Demonstrates commitment to the institutional mission, goals, and objectives. Maintains accurate student records for grading and attendance, submitting grade reports within college deadlines. During planned absences, coordinate with the Program Director or Program Coordinator for qualified substitute instructors and provide instructional materials, protocols, and directions to ensure consistent and sequential classroom instruction. Promotes and maintains a healthy and safe educational and work environment, free from harassment and discrimination. Demonstrates professional growth and development by updating subject matter knowledge and using effective teaching techniques. Develops, maintains, and promotes a positive working environment among departmental faculty. Performs all other duties as assigned by the respective Program Director. Minimum Qualifications18 graduate semester hours in physics + master's degree or a master's degree with a major in physicsPreferred QualificationsPreference is given to candidates with Physics teaching experience at the community college level, as well as LMS experience.
