Manager, Film Direction

We're looking for a highly experienced Manager, Film Direction to join our Brand Creative team. You're a visual storyteller with serious chops-equal parts director, editor, and creative thinker. You've got 5+ years of experience behind the camera and in the edit bay, leading cinematic campaigns to social-first videos from concept to delivery. You know how to move fast without compromising quality. You know how to direct seasoned talent and real healthcare professionals. And you know how to cut a story that hits hard-whether it's a 15-second evergreen product ad, 10-second social teaser, or a 3-minute brand anthem.At FIGS, we don't just create content. If you can direct with clarity, edit with purpose, and bring elevated, documentary-style storytelling to life with a distinct visual POV-we want to hear from you.This role will manage a Video Editor.What You'll Do: Direct high-impact evergreen, brand, product, and storytelling films-from pre-pro through final delivery Collaborate with all Brand Creative and Marketing Partners, Copywriters, and Producers to shape compelling narratives rooted in real Awesome Human experiences Develop treatments and shot lists that elevate the story and reflect FIGS' premium, authentic aesthetic Lead on-set direction of both real healthcare professionals and professional talent Edit short-form and long-form video content for multi-platform use (social, digital, OOH, broadcast, internal, etc.) Select music, sound design, and VFX with an editorial eye and emotional intelligence Maintain a high visual bar while hitting tight timelines (yes, both can be true) Partner with internal and external crews, editors, and post-production teams to scale output when needed Qualifications: 5+ years of professional film direction and editing experience in-house, at an agency, or production company A standout portfolio that showcases documentary-style storytelling, product films, and editorial content Deep experience working with branded content and/or fashion, lifestyle, or health-focused brands Proficiency in Premiere Pro (bonus if you have After Effects or DaVinci) A refined visual eye, strong editorial instincts, and a deep understanding of pacing, tone, and rhythm Proven ability to lead and collaborate across disciplines with clarity and kindness Confidence under pressure and adaptability when plans (inevitably) change Passion for storytelling that celebrates real people doing real, incredible things Nice to Haves: Background in photography or visual design Experience shooting in clinical or healthcare environments Familiarity with color grading and sound mixing workflows Sense of humor. Always a plus. FIGS Compensation and BenefitsPay Range At FIGS, your base salary is one part of your total compensation package. This role's base salary range is between $94,500 and $135,000. Actual base salary is determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to your relevant skills, qualifications, and years of experience.
