The teacher will plan and implement a mix of individual, small group, and whole group instruction to ensure an individualized and rigorous educational program for each student, in alignment with the Montessori philosophy and the curriculum of Montessori Academy of Chambersburg.* Design and maintain a classroom environment which responds to children's individual developmental levels, physical and emotional needs, current interests, and the academic curriculum.* Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum, which reflects the Montessori approach to education and the Montessori Academy of Chambersburg's written curriculum, which will include observations and assessments of individual children.* Support individuality, independence, interdependence, and the student's ability to make choices. Encourage creative expression.* Demonstrate respect for diversity by providing anti-bias, non-sexist language, images, and experiences.* Interact frequently, affectionately, and respectfully, in a calm and courteous manner with children. Engage and communicate constructively with individual children during work, activities, and routines.* Practice positive discipline techniques in guiding children's behavior.* Supervise children at all times. Maintain and follow all safety and health rules.
