Schedule: 10pm - 6:30am Compensation varies based on experience, education, specific skills, and geographic location. The expected base rate for this role is $36.96/hour. This position also includes potential overtime pay and shift differentials. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform necessary repairs on diesel equipment such as tractors, trailers, bobtails, and lift gates. Conduct preventative maintenance according to DOT standards. Handle road calls, coordinate with third-party vendors, and collaborate with business partners on repair strategies. Maintain a clean and safe workspace, adhering to all safety rules and regulations. Use a fleet maintenance software system to document repairs and parts used. Provide backup support to other maintenance personnel as needed. Demonstrate a willingness to take on more responsibilities and pursue additional certifications. Complete other tasks as assigned by the manager. SUPERVISION N/A RELATIONSHIPS Internal: Fleet Technicians, Drivers, Coordinators, and Management External: Vendor service providers when necessary WORK ENVIRONMENT Onsite: Perform duties within a US Foods maintenance facility. Must be prepared to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Three years of verifiable experience as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for equipment repairs. Proven ability for independent analysis and problem-solving. Experience with a preventative maintenance program. Must provide personal hand tools. Ability to read and write effectively; basic math skills required. EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent is required. CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING EPA 608 certification is required. LICENSES Valid driver's license is necessary. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Class-A CDL license and DOT certification. Experience with fleet maintenance software. Welding skills are advantageous.
