Classroom Assistant Afterschool Care ages 3 to 6

This is NOT a seasonal job. We are looking for a committed individual who can work either 10AM to 6PM OR 2PM to 6PM Mondays thru Fridays (5 days a week) including Summers. DO NOT apply if you are not able to work these hours. The Assistant facilitates the comprehensive development of all students by interacting positively, confidently and respectfully with all children, families and staff members.Role: Activity Club Assistant P/T or F/TCampus: MAIN / ROSSANOProgram: Early Childhood (ages 3 to 6)Reports To: Jennifer Hamilton, Assistant DirectorDaily Hours: Monday to Friday - `10AM to 6PM OR 2PM to 6PMPositions Open: 3xStart Date: ASAP (Urgently Hiring)Start Pay: $21.00 per hour ($200 Sign On Bonus after 90 days)Job Responsibilities:Cleaning and rotating of activities, books and art suppliesAssist with drop-offsKnowing and following health & safety proceduresPreparing and providing snacks for the childrenOffering assistance to children, only when necessary per the Montessori wayEngaging in conversation with children to increase their opportunities for languageUsing positive discipline techniques to help students gain self-discipline and learn how to settle their own disputes using conflict resolution skillsLeaving the classroom clean and ready for the morning including using the three-step process to clean and sanitize the tables and chairsLoading dishwasher, laundry, and ensuring closing duties are metFollow BMS policies and procedures including keeping up to date with DCYF requirements and continuing educationAssist in other areas such as covering breaks, filling in at the front desk if necessary, assisting in other classroomsEducation and Experience: High School graduate or equivalency or at least 18 years of age Comparable work with children such as nannying, babysitting, etc. Experience working with Google drive and other platforms ****Requirements: Able to lift up to 25lbs Able to stand for long periods of time Passionate working with children Patient, calm, kind and understanding Team player Strong communication skills Proactive and takes initiative Strong attendance, punctuality, and flexibility Able to work in the US Complete the DCYF requirements (able to provide Portable Background Check, CPR/First Aid, proof of TB/Measles, Covid-19 vaccinations, Food Handler's permit, Borne Blood Pathogens, and complete the initial 30 hour basic child course) Mandarin speaker (bonus)
