A. Basic Purpose and Function:This position may be responsible for leading, training and developing, a crew of up to (60) skilled trade personnel in ship repair and maintenance of US Navy, USCG, and commercial ships. They will be responsible for attaining Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Cost performance objectives that ensure positive predictable results. At times they will work with the Project Manager and/or Project Coordinator as well as the other trades to deconflict work and maintain schedule. They will support/attend project meetings as required.B. The Performance Leader will provide timely feedback to employees in a constructive, coaching style, give praise and recognition and deal with performance issues.RequirementsEducation and Experience:• Qualified candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least five (5) years of trade experience in a ship repair environment and three (3) years of management experience.• This requirement can also be met with a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least eight (8) years of progressive trade experience in a manufacturing environment and one (1) year of management experience.• Preference is given to those with experience in a ship repair or shipbuilding environment.• An Associate's Degree or Bachelor's degree is a plus.?
