Job SummaryJOB SUMMARYAssists in the identification and assessment of students with exceptional needs; assists in the coordination of services for identified students with special needs; assists in monitoring special education programs to ensure compliance with the law, guidelines, and requirements; collaborates with and provides support forspecial education and regular education staff; assists in the development and implementation of staff development programs for the district; assists in other school programs as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS1. Credential: Appropriate California credential(s).2. Education: Master's Degree required; NCSP desired3. Minimum Experience: Successful experience/training in the assessment, diagnosis, and intervention with individuals with exceptional needs; successful experience in effectively communicating (orally and in writing) assessment results and strategies for intervention in childhood learning and/or personal adjustment problems; successful experience in working cooperatively with students, staff, and parents. Successful experience in monitoring compliance with special education regulations and state and federal rules and regulations.4. Personal Qualities: Grooming and personality establish a desirable example for pupils. Good physical and mental health. Better than average recommendations from supervisors or other professionals who have observed the personal characteristics, scholastic attainment, and performance of the teacher.
