Position Type:Athletics/Activities/Athletic TrainerDate Posted:7/24/2025Location:District Wide 6-12District:Clio Area School DistrictFull-Time Athletic TrainerJOB OBJECTIVE To help maintain the physical well-being of interscholastic athletes through the development and implementation of a comprehensive athletic health care program that focuses on injury prevention and provides for injury evaluation and immediate care and rehabilitation of injured athletes.QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or Exercise/Medical related field preferred National Athletic Trainers Association Certification CPR/AED certified ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAdministrative Maintains accurate medical records for injuries, treatment, rehabilitation, and physician referrals. Coordinates the report of athletic injuries with the Athletic Director. Assumes responsibility for the organization, inventory and distribution of athletic training supplies. Requisitions for medical equipment and/or supplies must be submitted to the Athletic Director. Certify all coaches on a yearly basis in CPR/AED (as per MHSAA Regulations). Maintains accurate Heat Index documentation for outdoor practices and games. Injury Prevention and Healing Provides athletic trainer services at interscholastic athletic events and practice sessions as assigned. Must be present at all home contests and available after school for all practices. Provides immediate care of athletic injuries and refers the athletes to a medical personnel or facility when necessary. Carries out appropriate instructions and treatment as directed by the athlete's physician. Responsible for the treatment and supervision of treatment for all minor athletic injuries and conditions. Maintains open communication with coaches, parents, and physicians regarding athletic injuries, treatment, and rehabilitation. Responsibilities will extend to providing athletic training coverage at away events as determined by the Athletic Director. This includes, but is not limited to, football games, basketball games, county tournament games and state tournament games. Responsible for the care and management of the athletic training room and water room. Performs other duties within the scope of his/her employment and certification as may be assigned by the Athletic Director.
