Receive direction on moderately complex assignments, tasks, and execution. Work is frequently reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound techniques and principles./liliReview work produced by junior staff for quality assurance./li/ulpAt the Operational and Company Level/pulliContinuously promote the firms capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients./li/ulpDo the Work/pulliProvide day-to-day supervision of assigned survey field crew on quality and survey methodology, including training, and mentoring of junior level employees./liliCoordinate with contractors to provide survey services./liliIdentify controls for property lines and make the appropriate decisions regarding how to proceed with the survey./liliGather all necessary information needed to properly conduct the survey in the most time efficient manner and assign tasks to crew members./liliDiscuss work with clients, as necessary./liliMake calculations and maintain records essential to survey./liliEnsure that assigned survey truck is properly maintained./liliMaintain and inventory all assigned equipment./liliCommunicate with management to maximize efforts and man-hours./li/ulh3Success Metrics and Competencies/h3pAbility to work both independently and within a team environment. Commitment to becoming a citizen of the broader organization, breaking down barriers and silos./ph3Qualifications/h3pHigh school diploma or GED required, associate degree or bachelors degree preferred. Commensurate relevant experience considered. Three or more (3+) years of experience working on a land surveying party. Prior Party Chief experience a plus. Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred. Thorough knowledge of construction stakeout procedures and practices. Familiar with field procedures for performing boundary and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys. Ability to perform all aspects of data collected field run topographic surveys, road frontage cross-section surveys and as-built surveys. Thorough knowledge of total station, GPS and data collection, with the ability to adapt to new equipment and technologies. Frequent and prolonged use of data collection equipment and/or drones, necessitating walking the assigned study area to complete data collection over the course of several hours. Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business. Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds. Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.
