SUMMARY: The Batch Plant Operator is responsible for overseeing daily plant operations, ensuring the consistent and accurate batching of ready mix concrete, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality production process. RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate the batch plant to produce ready mix concrete according to job specifications and company standards. Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of concrete mix designs to ensure accurate batching. Monitor plant controls, scales, and equipment to ensure proper batching and material consistency. Perform dispatching responsibilities such as order entry and direct communication with customers as needed. Effectively communicate with drivers to direct them to jobsites and ensure on-time deliveries. Coordinate with drivers, dispatch, and customers for timely delivery of concrete. Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly inspections and routine maintenance on batching, material handling, and support equipment. Follow all safety procedures to ensure the safety of self and crew at all times. Use required PPE when necessary. Maintain accurate records of production, materials, inspections, and maintenance. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality control procedures. Assist with yard organization, stockpile management, and housekeeping. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 1 year of experience as a batch plant operator required. Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Experience operating a front end loader a plus. Ready mix truck driving experience preferred; CDL a plus. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with team members. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends as needed.
