If you enjoy working with fresh meat products, helping customers, and keeping a clean, safe workspace-this could be the role for youPosition Overview:As a Meat Department Clerk, you'll be responsible for stocking, rotating, and packaging fresh meat products while providing exceptional service to customers. You'll help maintain clean cases and prep areas, support food safety standards, and assist the meat department team with daily tasks.Key Responsibilities: Stock and rotate packaged meat products in refrigerated cases Package, label, and weigh meat products accurately and attractively Keep meat cases and prep areas clean, organized, and sanitary Provide friendly and helpful service to customers in the department Maintain awareness of product freshness and expiration dates Assist with unloading deliveries and storing product properly Follow all company and food safety guidelines and sanitation procedures Support meat cutters and department management as needed RequirementsMinimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old Friendly, customer-service driven, and dependable Basic knowledge of food handling preferred Comfortable working with raw meat and cleaning chemicals Willing to obtain a food handler permit (McKeever's will assist) Physical Requirements: Stand and walk for extended periods (4-8 hour shifts) Frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, reaching, and repetitive motions Work in cold environments (coolers and freezers) Use of sharp tools, scales, and labeling equipment Employee Benefits: Daily Pay Option - Access your earnings when you need them Medical Benefits - Available to full-time team members 401(k) Program - Plan for your future with our retirement savings program On-the-Job Training - Learn food safety, packaging, and customer service skills Assistance with Food Handler Permit - We'll help you get certified Why Join McKeever Price Chopper?At McKeever's, quality and service go hand-in-hand.
