OverviewWe are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer for direct hire in Cary, North Carolina. The selected candidate will mentor and/or manage junior and mid-level mechanical engineering staff members while also working closely with clients to deliver exceptional services in the energy sector.Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5:30pm** This is a Direct Hire position **** This position can work a Hybrid schedule in Cary, NC (typically ~ 2 days/wk) **** This position requires a Professional Engineer License (any state) **** This position may require travel (typically ~ 10%) **Responsibilities- Lead a Mechanical Engineering team to provide advisory services and engineering design solutions for clients across all market sectors- Engage with clients, evaluating their energy needs, and develop concept-level plans and solutions; then take these through detailed design to provide for full execution- Collaborate with our client account managers and sales professionals on pursuits of strategic importance to the firm- Anticipate challenges and manage "up and out" while supporting large teams responsible for the daily details of project delivery- Strategy formation, business development and salesQualifications- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering- 10+ years experience in engineering design or consulting- A Professional Engineer License (any state)- Experience with heat pump / heat recovery chillers- Prior experience with personnel management- US Citizen- Experience with campus utility master planning or decarbonization / climate response planning, cogeneration or combined heat and power systems and/or thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water) is a plus
