Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) – Travel ContractLocation: Grand Rapids, MIContract Length: 13 WeeksStart Date: ASAPPosition Type: Traveler OnlyJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for a 13‐week travel contract in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is ideal for a qualified traveler who can quickly adapt to a fast‐paced clinical laboratory environment and deliver accurate, timely diagnostic results to support patient care.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and complex laboratory testing in areas such as hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, microbiology, immunology, and blood bank (as applicable)Accurately analyze, document, and report test results using the Laboratory Information System (LIS)Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipmentFollow CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and facility quality and safety standardsPerform quality control, calibration, and proficiency testingIdentify and escalate abnormal or critical results per protocolEnsure proper specimen handling, labeling, and processingCollaborate with physicians, nurses, and laboratory staff to support patient careAdhere to infection control and safety procedures at all timesRequirementsRecent experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory settingStrong working knowledge of laboratory procedures and instrumentationAbility to work independently with minimal orientationExcellent attention to detail and time‐management skillsProficiency with LIS systems and basic computer applicationsFlexibility to work assigned shifts and adapt to facility workflowsTraveler experience preferredEducation & CertificationBachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field (required)ASCP certification (MLS/MT) or equivalent (required or facility‐dependent)Must meet Michigan state requirements for laboratory professionals
