Your Role: As a Survey Project Manager, you will coordinate administrative and technical aspects of our projects and ensure that our field crews complete assignments successfully, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities: Provide strong leadership by guiding staff and managing processes to meet key objectives while ensuring high-quality results. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal departments to align project requirements and deliver outstanding outcomes. Engage with prospective clients, develop proposals, and create budgets and schedules to drive project success. Maintain proactive communication with clients regarding technical inquiries, project status, and billing matters. Oversee survey mapping and activities, managing changes and requests that may affect staffing and budgets. Support survey crews daily, ensuring timely access to necessary information and resources. Plan and define the scope of complex projects, monitoring progress toward deliverable schedules. Compile comprehensive project reports and maintain essential survey records. Manage budgets effectively and ensure timely billing while collecting outstanding payments. Contribute to marketing efforts by participating in presentations and meetings to establish new client relationships. Review significant project changes and their potential impacts on resources and budgets. Provide technical assistance in overcoming design challenges through effective field investigations and coordination. Act as the primary contact for surveying and mapping services, fostering strong relationships with clients. Procure and maintain equipment and supplies for survey crews, ensuring everything is in top condition. Make informed decisions regarding property line controls and survey approaches. Contribute to survey quality control and assurance processes. Your Success Metrics: Ability to communicate effectively across all organization levels. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED is required. Preferred: Associate's or bachelor's degree in Land Surveying or related field, or equivalent experience. Professional Land Surveying registration is preferred. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in land surveying, including party chief experience or relevant land development experience. Project management experience is a plus. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, roadway software, MicroStation, and Carlson principles. Comprehensive knowledge of construction stakeout procedures and practices. Thorough understanding of boundary and ALTA/ACSM survey field procedures. Experience conducting field data collection using total stations and adapting to new technologies. Knowledge of local jurisdictional requirements for plat preparation and approval is essential.
