4007 - New Kent - 16749 Weir Creek Blvd, West Point, Virginia, 23181CarMax, the way your career should beNow offering up to a $7,500 sign-on bonusOnly candidates external to CarMax who are hired will qualify to receive the sign on bonus.General Summary:Under general supervision, this position is responsible for all aspects of the paint application process, minor repairs, sanding, grinding, and paint preparation.On as needed basis, also responsible for Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II, Flow Inventory Associate II, Senior Reconditioning Associate, and Senior Reconditioning Associate I duties.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Complete paint applicationComplete minor repairs, including sanding and grindingComplete paint preparation, including color matching and mixingParticipate in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities with teamExecute standardized work as definedEnsure that all vehicles meet CarMax Paint StandardsEnsure all equipment is maintained, repaired, and cleaned as requiredEnsure proper inventory levels of all personal protective equipment, tools, and chemicals required to carry out paint process for all Senior Reconditioning AssociatesEnsure workplace cleanliness and organization in accordance with CarMax 5S standardsProvide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customersInterior and exterior detailing, interior repair, inventory, and paint preparation functionsComplete duties as assigned by ManagersJob Specifications:Position requires the following pre-requisites and abilities:New Associate Orientation Training - OperationsAccountable to Associate 1 Competency ModelKronos Training for Hourly AssociatesMeet Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II, Flow Inventory Associate II, Senior Reconditioning Associate and Senior Reconditioning Associate I Performance StandardsSuccessfully complete Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II, Flow Inventory Associate II, II Senior Reconditioning Associate, Senior Reconditioning Associate I and II Workstation CertificationsRead, interpret and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate recordsDiscern appropriate paint colors for purposes of painting and reconditioning vehicles to meet CarMax standardsPerform multiple duties in a high-energy, fast-paced environmentLift objects that weigh as much as 50lbsSpeak and listen effectively in dealing with customers/associates, both in person and over the phoneComplete CarMax provided training in all functional areas of reconditioning process, allowing for cross-training and full coverage of all areasWorking Conditions:Indoor and outdoor environment; may include working at times in noisy and/or inclement weather conditionsAdhere to all CarMax policies including, but not limited to: Time and Attendance Policy, Asset Protection, Culture of Integrity and Standards of Professional AppearanceFollow all government regulations including, but not limited to, OSHA and EPA standardsRequires walking or standing for an extended period of time.Variable work schedules with shifts that may include nights, weekends, holidays, and 12+ hour daysFollow all CarMax, O.S.H.A., and EPA standards including the use of Personal Protective Equipment, and proper waste disposal in required areasDisclaimer and Approvals:This document is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
