Summary: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a Military Technician position with the 88th Readiness Division, Equipment Concentration Site (ECS) 67, located at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. You must be an active member of the Army Reserve prior to starting your employment. Key Responsibilities: Operate a range of diesel and gasoline powered equipment, including generators, various wheeled and tracked vehicles, and semi-trailer combinations up to 70 tons. Utilize forklifts and heavy equipment from 2,000 to 50,000 pounds capacity for loading, unloading, warehousing, and preparation of equipment and supplies for transport. Conduct preventative maintenance checks and services on vehicles. Perform basic operator maintenance including servicing braking systems, checking vehicle lights, and taking oil samples. Manage the issuing, receiving, and storing of equipment in the warehouse. Handle preparation and posting of documents for the Army Oil Analysis Program and equipment dispatching. Inspect incoming items for damage and serviceability; prepare accountability documents and warehouse reports. Qualifications Required: Must demonstrate the ability to operate gasoline powered equipment, perform common warehousing tasks, and handle preventive maintenance procedures without more than normal supervision. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, stoop, bend, and perform tasks in a physically demanding environment. Able to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds regularly. Additional Information: Position requires active membership in the Army Reserve. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must present proof of Selective Service Registration. Direct Deposit of Pay is a requisite. A one-year trial or probationary period may apply. Selected candidates may be eligible for Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances based on defined regulations.
