Staff Project Controls SpecialistJob SummaryThe Staff Project Controls Specialist is responsible for leading project controls processes in collaboration with the internal Project Management team to ensure successful execution of project deliverables within approved budget and schedule. This role supports planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and reporting across multiple projects while ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Controls & SystemsLead project controls activities to support project execution within budget and schedule.Ensure proper project setup within Enterprise Planning & Controls software.Analyze project data, review logs, and generate reports using Enterprise Planning & Controls software and other tools.Create and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).Input, document, and validate changes to cost reports, forecasts, and schedules. Scheduling & PlanningDevelop, implement, and maintain project schedules at various levels of detail.Apply and review schedule logic ties and critical path method (CPM) techniques.Monitor resource loading and perform schedule "what-if" scenarios.Support Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM).Develop, review, and analyze scheduling reports and backup documentation for accuracy.Consult with project teams regarding schedule progress and performance. Cost Control & ForecastingDevelop and maintain cost reports, cash flow reports, forecasts, and progress curves.Develop and maintain an earned value management system (EVMS).Review project costs, contingency usage, and support internal and external audits.Approve purchase orders and subcontracts for proper coding.Review upstream (prime contract) and downstream (purchase order and subcontract) change orders. Quality Assurance & Field SupportPerform quality checks and inspections on project controls deliverables.Conduct field audits to validate accuracy of reporting and project controls processes.Assist with project forensic analysis as needed. GeneralPerform other duties as assigned.Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards. Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of direct project controls experience; orEquivalent applicable experience in lieu of degree.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.OSHA 10-hour Safety Certification (or ability to obtain).
