Job Title: Senior Project ManagerWork Location: Onsite – Springfield, IllinoisEmployment Type: Full-TimeOverviewWe are seeking a highly organized and proactive Senior Project Manager to support the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects across cross-functional teams. This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals through structured project governance, risk management, and stakeholder communication.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & CoordinationDevelop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverablesCoordinate project activities across multiple teams, vendors, and stakeholdersTrack task dependencies, resource allocations, and overall project progressOrganize and facilitate project kickoff meetings, sprint planning sessions, and status reviewsRisk & Issue ManagementIdentify, document, and monitor project risks, issues, and dependenciesMaintain and update risk and issue logs, escalating concerns as appropriateSupport the development and execution of mitigation and contingency plansTrack resolution status and ensure timely closureStakeholder Communication & ReportingServe as a central point of coordination for project communicationsPrepare and distribute project status reports, dashboards, and executive summariesFacilitate regular status meetings and document action items and decisionsEnsure consistent communication of project progress, risks, and changesScope & Change ControlSupport scope management to ensure deliverables align with approved requirementsDocument and manage change requests, including impact analysisMaintain change control logs and support governance review processesHelp enforce project standards and prevent scope creepRequired Skills & QualificationsStrong understanding of project management planning, execution, and controlDemonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional teamsExperience with risk and issue management, including escalation and mitigationExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Smartsheet, or similarStrong organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detailPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting enterprise or public-sector initiativesFamiliarity with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery methodologiesExperience working in regulated or governance-heavy environmentsPMP, CAPM, or other project management certification (or in progress)
