Our company culture is one that values family, community, commitment, & hard work. B&G Equipment and Supply is seeking a mechanic for our crane division. This individual will primarily work on crawler cranes and marine equipment. They will be working on them in the shop, prepping them for a project, and running service calls when equipment is down. The individual will also work on our Alimak hoist and tower cranes when no marine or crawler work is needed. The role offers an hourly wage with the potential to earn more based on your experience and skills. All benefits, including health, dental, vision, and 401k, start on your first day of employment. Inspect tools and equipment to diagnose malfunction or to determine functional condition or jobsite worthiness Maintain tools and equipment in accordance with maintenance schedules and meet deadlines on mobilization dates Repair tools and equipment enclosures, interiors, dashboards, electrical panels, and related equipment Repair electrical and simple electronic malfunctions Perform emergency repairs away from the shop to return the equipment to operation, or to assist in returning the equipment to the shop for further repair Operate tools and equipment to diagnose malfunction (multi-meter), verify operation, or to move it into or out of the shop area Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and the general shop area Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience 3-5 years rental industry experience preferred Must have knowledge on diesel and gas engines, basic electrical troubleshooting, and hydraulics Ability to perform 500- HR,1000- HR, and 2000- HR services on equipment Ability to acquire knowledge of the principles, methods, tools, and equipment used in the repair of vehicles and self-powered equipment, including Heavy Equipment, Crawler Cranes, Marine Equipment (Boats/Inboard & Outboard Motors), and Hydraulics Ability to follow all applicable safety standards, rules, laws, and procedures Ability to acquire increasingly complex mechanical skills and troubleshooting Ability to record information in the proper manner in computer databases Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with coworkers and customers High school diploma
