The key attributes needed for this position are Drive, Adaptability, and Effective Intelligence (learning a principle and applying it to unique situations). Our experienced personnel, use of innovative technology, and genuine dedication to customer service has established us as a trusted source for fire protection services.LocationLocations of our position needs are Omaha, NE - this is a travelling role and extended assignment work may be required in the futureResponsibilitiesBe proficient at designing fire alarm and detection systemsBe proficient at detailing of shop drawings (field installation drawings and battery calculations), field engineering (on the jobsite support and review), and operation planning (field installation support)Compile and prepare plan submittals (shop drawings) and material submittals for review by architects, engineers, clients, and authorities having jurisdictionCoordinate fire alarm and detection design with the building structure and other MEP subcontractorsBe proficient at preparing project material stocklists to be used for material procurementOversee project scheduling, onsite operations planning, quantity tracking, material fabrication and procurementField engineering troubleshooting and support for the installation operations on the jobsiteContract administration and communication with the general contractor and authority having jurisdictionPrepare "as-built" drawings for in-house archive and client files.General understanding of job costs related to engineering, material and fabrication, and laborAbility to travel to construction jobsites and other office locations as the business requires up to 50%, exposed to wide-ranging climates and environmentsAbility to relocate to project sites for extended periods of timeBe able to teach others how to read construction, engineering, architectural, and structural plansBe able to teach the fundamental understanding of general construction methods, practices, and terminologyBe able to perform objective peer review and mentoring in a team environmentSelf-directed NFPA, Building, and Fire Codes researchProgramming of Fire Alarm systems, with ability to test & commission these systemsQualifications3+ years fire alarm design experience and/or direct field experience.Associates degree preferred or equivalent working experienceIndustrial, Power or similar project experienced preferredExperienced with AutoCADNICET certification strongly preferredExperienced with MS Excel and WordHigh level of self-discipline, motivation, and ability to operate in a team environmentHighly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiativeStrong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first timeDemonstrated commitment to ethics and integrityPassion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurtStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsTeam player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectivesStrong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail#LI-TSCOTTOther Requirements:Regular, reliable attendanceWork productively and meet deadlines timelyCommunicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.Perform work safely and effectively.
