Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionJoin us in the fight for what's rightLeading personal injury law firm is seeking a detail-oriented, organized and multi-tasking Settlement Paralegal who will be responsible for providing world-class customer service by accurately calculating disbursements and scheduling client appointments to assist clients with receiving their settlement offers as quickly as possible.Responsibilities Review personal injury and workers' compensation claims to identify and address health and disability insurance reimbursement rights. Analyze payment ledgers and subrogation claims for accuracy, disputing unrelated or invalid charges to protect client recoveries. Communicate directly with insurance carriers, subrogation vendors, and law firms to resolve outstanding liens. Prepare reimbursement estimates and negotiate lien reductions alongside the legal team. Manage online claim platforms (Medicare, Medicaid, and private subrogation portals) and stay up to date on changing policies and procedures. Ensure third-party distribution orders are accurately prepared and compliant with legal standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred (equivalent education/experience will be considered) 2+ years of clerical or administrative experience, preferably in legal, insurance, or medical billing environments Experience working with CRMs such as Litify preferred Excellent organizational and analytical skills High attention to detail with a drive to identify errors and advocate for fairness Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and outside contacts Familiarity with lien resolution, subrogation processes, or settlement distribution a plus Benefits Competitive salary Medical, dental, and vision insurance Base life insurance paid by the firm plus supplemental option Short and long-term disability paid by the firm 401(k) with match PTO, plus holidays and paid volunteer time off Education and gym reimbursement Equal Opportunity StatementDeMayo Law Offices is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
