Lunch Time Instructor

Pay Rate: Salary Range $16.00 - $17.00 per hourHours: Could be flexible, but essentially 11:00 am - 1:00 pm weekdaysJOB SUMMARYUnder the general supervision of the Early Childhood Coordinator, responsible for assisting children with their lunches and organized play (inside or outdoors).ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Prepare tables and toys before children arrive. Sanitize toys on a regular basis. Assist children in washing hands, attending the bathroom, opening lunch packages, etc. Redirect children, when necessary, lead games and/or activities during playtime and help children prepare for outdoor play and dismissal. Dismiss children or escort to their next program in a systematic and safe manner. Maintain a clean, safe and sanitized environment. Maintain food temperature logs, attendance records and sign out sheets. Be aware of children's allergies and have them posted. Implement Early Childhood procedures/policies with other staff in a cooperative manner. Maintain a commitment to the development of each child's self-esteem in a nurturing way. Keep communication open between parents/families and the preschool; between preschool office and the preschool staff. Help each child become aware of his/her role as an integral member of the group. Help prepare activities that are developmentally appropriate for the age of the children. Perform the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules. Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Enjoy working with young children. Be aware of different stages in a child's growth. Be flexible and patient. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Current Food Handler Certification. Valid First Aid, CPR and AED (Pediatric and Adult) Certifications. Flexibility, communication skills and patience. Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions. Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees. Ability to obtain all Certifications required within 3 months from date of hire.
