DescriptionAbout Communities In Schools of San Antonio:Communities In Schools of San Antonio is part of a national organization, Communities In Schools, that ensures every student, regardless of race, zip code, or socioeconomic background has what they need to realize their potential in school and beyond. Working directly in over 100 schools across 12 San Antonio school districts, we connect students to caring adults and community resources that help them overcome the barriers that stand between them and a brighter future. We are seeking a passionate, committed, and value-oriented individual to join our team. You will be part of a powerful movement for change, where our staff are committed to shaping an equitable path to education for future generations.Job Description:Interns with CIS-SA will support the implementation of integrated student supports within a public-school setting to address campus-wide goals and needs under the supervision of an experienced CIS-SA Site Coordinator or Clinical case manager. The target population will be students and their families facing obstacles to academic and personal success. The intern will work directly on the school campus, providing accessible services to a small group of at-risk students and their families. The intern will also collaborate with their supervisor and school staff to provide the necessary services to meet the needs of the campus and its students. CIS-SA interns contribute to the implementation of the evidence-based CIS model through the following activities: Provide intentional case-management services to a minimum of 5 to 15 economically disadvantaged students who are at-risk of dropping out of school Co-facilitate 1 group to address common barriers among students and provide a supportive environment in which students can build relationships, develop critical skills, and learn from the intern and their peers Coordinate services within the CIS Targeted Needs, including Academic Needs, Attendance Needs, Mental & Behavioral Health Needs, Social Service Needs and College & Career Readiness Needs.
