Job DescriptionThis position provides Facility Security for all events at the Yuengling Center and is responsible for the protection and safeguarding of guests and employees. This position reports to the Security Manager. This position may also support Benchmark International Arena or other VSG facilities on a part-time schedule overall.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide all guests a positive first impression by offering World Class Service Provide guests with accurate arena and event information Enforce building policies and procedures Accurately check all staff/guest bags prior to entering the arena Respond to all emergencies during the event Accurately and thoroughly complete incident reports Work cooperatively with all staff members, law enforcement officers and fire/rescue personnel Respond to all guests' concerns/complaints in a prompt, courteous and professional manner Monitor the crowd during all events to ensure safety for all Verify credentials to control access into restricted areas Maintain a clean and neat appearance during work hours Perform other duties, as assigned Qualifications Knowledge of the Security Chain of Command Security license preferred, Law Enforcement or Military background Excellent customer service skills Knowledge and skill in radio communication Excellent verbal communication skills required with a thorough understanding of written and spoken English. Bilingual a plus Ability to listen effectively, take and execute directions given Ability to remain calm and focused during times of stress Ability to exercise sound judgment to diffuse volatile situations Ability to work independently and in a team environment Working Conditions Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time, walk long distances and climb stairs.Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely in the English languageAbility to work in areas that can become crowded with equipment and/or peopleAbility to work comfortably around special effects including, but not limited to: haze, strobe lights, lasers, etc.Ability to work in loud environmentsAbility to lift and carry up to 25lbsMust be able to walk to and from designated employee parking areas, including in varying earther conditions and during high-traffic event timesMust have the ability to work a flexible schedule including long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays Must be able to work in cold/hot indoor and outdoor temperaturesWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
