SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM 2026 - All Majors welcome to applyWe will begin reviewing applications and conducting interviews toward the end of January 2026.2026 Summer internship dates: June 1, 2026 - Friday, August 7, 2026Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week.Hybrid Role: Requires occasional on-site presence. Housing available.Please note, employment offered to residents in the following states only: Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont.Why be an Intern at Preferred Mutual?Preferred Mutual's internship program provides paid opportunities for undergraduate students to contribute to a variety of critical business assignments, apply academic knowledge, and match their interests to real-world experiences. For the second year, our internship program is nationally recognized as an Elite 50 Internship program by RISE Professional.Our (10) week program includes day to day operational experience, department group projects, lunch & learns with department heads, group internship project, online learning, offsite group activities (example: baseball game and business lunch/dinner at a fine dining restaurant with our CEO and/or CHRO) and participation at our annual company picnic.PARTICIPATING DEPARTMENTS:We welcome applications from all majors for all departments within Preferred Mutual, though internships may not be available in all departments in 2026. Department could include Claims, Underwriting, Finance, Product, and more.LOCATION and HOUSING:Internships will be available on a hybrid basis at our New Berlin, NY office location. Housing can be provided and is only for employees, including interns, if needed.THE UNDERGRADUATE INTERN WILL: Support business unit by assisting with specific projects with defined tasks Use academic coursework knowledge to contribute to team discussions and decision-making Research topics relevant to necessary business units within organization Gain valuable real world work experience and business knowledge QUALIFICATIONS: Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program at an accredited institution Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal Demonstrated ability to work both individually and as a team Excellent analytical and organizational skills Demonstrated customer service and ability to quickly shift priorities Attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment ABOUT US:As a mutual company, we are independent by nature, so we think about insurance solutions a little differently.
