Job DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum for a travel nursing job in Council Bluffs, Iowa.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & PostpartumDiscipline: RNStart Date: 01/05/2026Duration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: Travel/nJob Description/nAmerican Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for a LDRP assignment requiring an active IA or compact RN license and night shift availability./n /n Responsibilities/nWork in an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) unit in an acute care settingCare for low-risk maternal patients, including labor, delivery, and postpartum casesPatient ratios are generally 1:3 mom-baby couplets and 1:1 for laboring patientsCommon diagnoses include Level 1 maternal care, occasional magnesium sulfate and gestational diabetes casesNight shift position with 12-hour shiftsSchedule includes every 3rd weekendAlaris IV pumps are used in the unitEPIC is the charting system utilized (prior experience preferred)Unit is closed, and floating is not requiredCharge nurses are present each shift and take patient assignmentsDuties include managing labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care for mothers and newborns, including the administration of common drips such as insulin, magnesium sulfate, and pitocinFlexible scheduling is preferredPass/Fail clinical skills exam is administered during orientationArtificial nails are prohibited for all staff providing patient careFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyHoliday coverage may be required as per unit needsA 50-mile distance from the facility is required for eligibility/n /n Requirements/nActive IA or Compact (NLC) RN license required at time of considerationCurrent BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications requiredMinimum of 2 years Labor & Delivery experience preferredMust demonstrate competency in labor, delivery, and postpartum care; NICU experience is a plusDriver's license is required to verify residence outside the 50-mile radiusCandidates may not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities within the past yearAbility to pass an open-book clinical skills exam with a minimum 90% score during orientationReferences from a supervisor within the last 12 months and either a peer or supervisor from the last 3 years are required/n Benefits/nHigh Pay and BonusesMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options401(k) PlanWeekly Payroll DepositFree Online CEUsGenerous Housing AllowanceTravel and Licensure ReimbursementsNon-taxed Per Diem and SubsidyTraveler Rewards and Discounts/nAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-645753.
