Join our team and become a part of our new growth and bright future We offer competitive salary and a great benefits package in an exciting, rewarding industry.Dohrn is seeking a Dock Supervisor at our St. Louis, MO terminal.Pay is $65,000/YearSchedule: Monday - Friday, 7pm startDohrn offers great benefits including health insurance, short/long term disability, voluntary life and much moreResponsibilitiesProvide training, supervision, feedback, and discipline for hourly Operations team membersRoute City operationManage the daily performance of the City Pickup and Delivery Operation for optimal safety, performance, on-time Service, cost control, and claims preventionEnsure On-time Delivery service in accordance with the organizational goals by ensuring pick-ups and deliveries are made timely, efficiently, and returns are kept to a minimumMonitor Line Haul operationMonitor Dock performance and efficiency and adjust manpower as neededSolve problems regarding lost and missing freightCommunicate efficiently with other departments to ensure a successful operationWork in a safe and professional manner so as to reduce personal risks and risk to fellow employeesReport all facility problems to the Facility Maintenance DepartmentComply with federal, state, and company regulationsProcess all paperwork daily associated with the execution of the jobWork in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way at all timesPerform other duties as neededQualificationsA minimum age of 18High School completion or equivalentValid Driver LicenseSupervisory experience requiredAbility to work any shiftMust have the knowledge and ability to perform all Operations jobs in the Terminal including Dock, Dispatch, Warehouse, and RoutingExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong leadership skillsDetail-oriented, organizedMust meet all physical requirementsMust have certification in forklift safety and hazardous material handlingAbility to multi-task and react to change productivelyExcellent attendanceWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSVisual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitorLifting various types of materials will be required: cartons, bags, cylinders, boxes, crates, drums, pipe, bars, rugs, etcCommon material handling tools will be used: forklifts, carts, dollies, banding machines, shrink wrap tubes, pallet jacks, and tow motorsStanding, walking, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, carrying, bending at the waist, reaching, and lifting both above and below waist level will be requiredMust be physically capable of operating a forklift, pallet jack, load lock and two-wheel handcartWill be required to lift up, set down, slide or move weight unassisted that could exceed 80 poundsMust be able to lift 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and 100+ lbs. on an infrequent basisMust be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of timeMust have the ability to safely enter and exit trailers, vans, flatbeds, forklifts and tractorsMust have the ability to work around and operate motorized equipmentMust be able to perform the essential functions of the job as specified in the job descriptionMay be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures and dusty conditions in the dock environment; must be able to perform essential functions in these conditionsWe are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
