Location: Canton OfficeSalary/Hourly: HourlyManager Title: Director, Geotechnical Laboratory and ServicesKey Responsibilities: Receive, log, and organize incoming soil samples for testing. Conduct laboratory tests on soils and aggregates following ASTM, AASHTO, and other applicable standards. Perform physical and chemical preparation of samples, including weighing, blending, and stabilization using additives. Operate and maintain lab equipment such as sieves, ovens, scales, mixers, and compaction tools. Record and report test results accurately and timely. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with lab protocols. Assist in calibrating equipment and ensuring quality control procedures are followed. Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to troubleshoot and improve testing processes. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification in construction materials, environmental science, or related field preferred. Familiarity with ASTM soil testing standards (e.g., D698, D4318, D422, D1557). Ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs. Detail-oriented, methodical, organized, thorough, disciplined and technically meticulous personal traits. Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
