We are seeking a passionate Bilingual Immigration Attorney to join the practice of a small firm that specializes in all areas of immigrant protection, from permanent residency to winning asylum and removal defense cases to helping families reunite, remain together, and gain access to unjustly withheld benefitsThis is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated legal professional, fluent in Spanish, looking to make a significant impact.Duties include: Handle and be responsible for a caseload of Affirmative Asylum and EOIR Removal Proceeding cases including but not limited to defensive asylum cases and TVPRA cases. Develops and implements preliminary case strategy after assessing clients' background and applying appropriate immigration law and procedure Responsible for identifying potential non-asylum relief including USCIS applications. Responsible for reviewing and approving any and all petitions, motions, and other filings prior to submission to court or other immigration agencies Responsible for drafting and filing case briefs and motions including but not limited to protected grounds & nexus statements, 1 year deadline briefs, and eligibility briefs Prepare for and conduct Master Hearings, Individual Hearings, and other contested hearings in person and through Webex Responsible for ensuring all case deadlines are met and cases are resolved in a timely manner Responsible for meeting with clients and preparing them for court hearings including declaration and trial preparation. Expected to provide exceptional client service and ensure satisfaction of the client throughout the duration of the case. Experience: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school Bilingual- Spanish speaker required dmission to the CA State Bar Association 1+ year of experience practicing EOIR preferred but not required Strong research and writing skills Must be comfortable handling a fully electronic caseload Demonstrates attention to detail, time management, initiative, problem-solving, organization skills, and willingness to learn
