Your Role As a Water Treatment Operator, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring water treatment facilities, managing chemical treatments, conducting water quality tests, and maintaining equipment. Your contributions will directly ensure a safe and reliable water supply for our community. Key Responsibilities Engage with customers, perform meter readings, and manage meter inspections for accuracy. Conduct physical labor related to installing and maintaining water distribution systems, including flushing water mains and performing utility markouts. Operate and monitor chemical treatment systems, read meters and equipment gauges, and maintain treatment facilities. Supervise the receipt of water treatment chemicals and ensure proper handling. Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs on mechanical and electrical systems. Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and conducting regular inspections. Respond to customer inquiries and complaints regarding water services. Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation and address water emergencies as needed. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of pump operations, water treatment processes, and mechanical systems. Proficient in computer use and capable of learning company software systems. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and various stakeholders. Hourly Pay Rate: $21 - $32 per hour About Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp.
