Join us in making this venture a sweet successAs a Team Member of our student-run ice cream business, you will be involved in various aspects of running the business, from serving customers and managing inventory to creating new flavors and marketing our products. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills and gain real-world experience in a fun and dynamic environment.Job DescriptionTypical duties include but not limited to: Greet and assist customers with a friendly and positive attitude. Take and process orders accurately and efficiently. Handle transactions. Assist in the preparation and presentation of ice cream products. Follow recipes and maintain consistency in product quality. Ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients. Monitor and report inventory levels to ensure adequate stock. Assist in receiving and organizing deliveries. Conduct regular checks to manage waste and reduce costs. Help promote the business through social media, flyers, and other marketing efforts. Participate in brainstorming and implementing promotional strategies. Gather and use customer feedback to improve offerings and services. Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance tasks for workspace, equipment, and utensils. Attend regular team meetings and participate in training sessions. Other Duties: Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Additional Job DescriptionMinimum Qualifications: Enrolled as a degree seeking student at Florida Gulf Coast University at the time of hire and throughout the appointment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing inventory. Prior experience in customer service or food handling is a plus but not required. Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to the success of the business. This position is open to both FWS and non-FWS eligible students. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Promote a common purpose consistent with stated University goals and demonstrate a commitment to students and the learning environment. Possess the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manuals related to the job tasks. Demonstrate the ability to respond to supervision, guidance, and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies. Provide quality customer service by creating a welcoming and supportive environment. Present a professional image in word, action, and attire. Apply effective techniques to create working relationships with others to achieve common goals; successfully communicates and collaborates with others to achieve goals. Demonstrate skills necessary to look at situations and processes critically to make recommendations for improvement.
