The volunteer will help refugee students in the Salt Lake City area navigate their school work by providing basic academic support for youth in grades 6-12. Volunteers will be matched with a family with school-aged children who need help with homework, online classwork, or their ESL skills, and are asked to meet weekly for one hour with the student/family. Tutors support each student with homework/assignments spanning academic subjects/disciplines and English language development skills. We ask that all tutors commit to a minimum of 3 months of service, meeting once a week for a minimum of one hour per week.
