Job Description: Join our team to maintain, repair, and test fiber optic cables in various environments including underground, aerial, or buried settings. Splice existing facilities in a range of work locations, ensuring top-notch service. Utilize an array of hand tools, power tools, and specialty equipment such as multi-meters and volt-ohm meters in both inside and outside plant facilities. Conduct testing and turn-up of subscriber lines for optimal performance. Locate and repair issues in aerial and underground cable systems, ensuring minimal disruption to service. Manage the joining, repairing, and rearranging of cable and equipment in buildings as well as aerial or buried plants, while installing and testing telecommunication services for residential and small business clients including POTS, Prism, Fiber, and DSL. Connect wires and cables to terminals and frames, and attach or detach various hardware as needed for installations. Perform continuity and conformance testing to guarantee high-quality service. Read and interpret customer service orders, technical drawings, maps, blueprints, and diagrams to execute efficient repairs and installations. Receive and act on service orders, worksheets, and repair tickets from supervisors or other designated staff to complete tasks effectively. Work with telecom color-coded wires and cables in a precise manner. Engage with customers professionally and courteously, whether communicating via phone or when on-site. Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve common goals, while also possessing the ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision. Equipment Requirements: Truck, van, or SUV required to carry a 28ft extension ladder. Comprehensive list of necessary tools to be provided.
