Responsibilities Foster a culture of trust and respect among team members, facilitating clear communication regarding company and department goals. Encourage teamwork and collaboration to successfully meet store objectives. Set and monitor performance goals for the Bakery department, empowering associates to achieve success. Develop effective scheduling to align with customer volume during operational hours. Train and mentor associates, participating in performance evaluations to support their growth. Comply with all applicable local, state, federal laws, and company policies. Create a welcoming atmosphere for customers, promoting bakery specials and providing product recommendations. Maintain in-depth knowledge of bakery products to enhance customer experience. Prepare custom bakery items as requested by customers, using appropriate equipment and offering samples to encourage new purchases. Ensure customers receive fresh products in the correct portion sizes to minimize waste. Operate bakery equipment efficiently and safely in accordance with company guidelines. Collaborate with management to develop and execute a strategic business plan for the department. Provide feedback on seasonal products to enhance sales and merchandising efforts. Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions to keep the team informed. Control department expenses and assist in budget preparation and profit/loss analysis. Implement routine price changes and promotional signage as needed. Coordinate and supervise inventory management processes. Adhere to food safety standards, ensuring proper food preparation and storage procedures are followed. Reinforce safety protocols, reporting unsafe conditions to management promptly. Conduct preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs. Document and report any accidents involving customers or employees to management. Swiftly address any safety risks or illegal activities within the store. Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing stress constructively. Handle conflicts in a calm and cooperative manner while maintaining integrity in all interactions. Provide support to customers, including minors and individuals with special needs, ensuring an inclusive environment. Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications Excellent communication skills. Basic math proficiency. Ability to manage stressful situations effectively. Must obtain a current food handlers permit once employed. Desired High school diploma or equivalent. Previous management experience. Experience in a bakery or similar food service environment.
