Job Opportunity: Medical Director - Neonatology Join a Leading Neonatology Team in Roanoke, VA We are seeking a full-time, dedicated Neonatologist to join an esteemed group of ten neonatologists and five neonatal nurse practitioners at a regional perinatal center in beautiful Roanoke, VA. Enjoy practicing advanced neonatology medicine while embracing the vibrant small-town lifestyle nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Job Responsibilities Provide expert neonatal care at a 60-bed regional perinatal center and a 6-bed Level 2 NICU. Manage and lead NICU operations as Medical Director or serve as Associate Medical Director, ensuring high-quality clinical care. Oversee advanced NICU services, including high-frequency ventilation, whole body cooling, and nitric oxide therapy. Collaborate with multidisciplinary pediatric and maternal-fetal medicine subspecialists. Support medical education by working with medical students and residents. Engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in research within the Virginia Neonatal Perinatal Collaborative. Provide clinical coverage including day shifts, on-call, and weekend duties as needed. Maintain compliance with hospital policies and participate in leadership meetings and committees. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring residency within the local area. Relocation may be necessary. Not accepting Locums candidates. Accepting J1 visa candidates only, with sponsorship available. Qualifications Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Neonatology. Neonatal leadership experience is required for the Medical Director role. Virginia medical license or willingness to obtain. Clean malpractice and medical license history is highly preferred. Relocation to the local area is required. DEA must be obtained prior to start. License and Certification Requirements Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) or Board Certified in Neonatology. Virginia medical license or willingness to obtain. Must have a clean malpractice and medical license history.
