Gould HospitalWork Type: Full TimeHours Per Week: 36.00Work Schedule: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PMSummary:Provides direct and in-direct patient care under direction of office leadership. Performs duties such as routine intake of patients which includes taking vital signs, performing point of care testing as appropriate and assuring patients understand their discharge instructions. May also be required to transport patients. They will also be required to answer phone messages, propose orders per the JPP and assure providers are made aware when there are outstanding tasks on their desktops/message center that they must complete.Responsibilities:Communicates and interacts with patients and families, physicians, peers and other health care members to maximize successful customer outcomes and maximize function of the unitOrients patient to hospital environment and routineAttends and serves on one-unit committee or educational peer opportunity to improve quality and/or engagementDocuments all aspects of patient care in a timely mannerParticipates in unit quality improvement initiativesProvides care in accordance with the patient's plan of careLabel and Delivers specimens per policyMaintains a safe environment complying with policies and procedures; reports and directly addresses environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observedMay perform other duties upon request.Other Information:Education and Experience • Healthcare experience or training preferred. • Current graduate of a recognized MA program or on-line course preferred. • Must have approved national certification at time of hire. • BLS certification is to be obtained prior to caring for patients and is to be kept current. • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
