Assist the Restaurant Manager with restaurant operations and supervision of food and beverage staff.RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Know your work schedule and follow it with a high degree of reliability.2. Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.5. Perform your job according to standard operating procedures.6. Read, understand and follow all policies, procedures and practices as stated in the Employee Handbook.7. Implement resort/restaurant safety and emergency policies and procedures (i.e. evacuation, first aid, etc.) to include removing all safety hazards, following OSHA Hazcom program and safe lifting techniques.8. Utilize protective equipment, when applicable.9. Promptly report accidents, injuries, property damage or loss to supervisor.10. Promptly report substandard (unsafe) conditions to supervisor.11. Keep accurate communication flowing freely among all hotel departments.12. Inform management promptly of any work-related problems or guest complaints.13. Maintain professional, amicable relationships with all resort departments, managers, and staff, as well as vendors, and community and professional contacts.14. Promote excellent guest service throughout the resort by demonstrating friendly, courteous and helpful attitudes toward all guests.15. Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings.16. Train and supervise other employees as directed by management.17. Continue to learn and grow in your position.18. Perform any reasonable request as assigned or directed by management.19. Provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.20. Arrange for reasonable accommodations for person(s) with disabilities.21. Assist person(s) with a disability.22. Comply with all applicable federal, state, local laws and ordinances as they apply to the resort/restaurant, guests and employees.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTTIONS:• Manage and ensure proper operation of restaurant, leading by example with a team player attitude.• Assist with training the restaurant staff.• Implement resort/restaurant policies and procedures pertaining to the restaurant department.• Practice safety standards and report all unsafe conditions to the proper person.• As directed, schedule restaurant employees in accordance with staffing guides and weekly forecast, avoiding overtime in scheduling.• Oversee reservations.• Monitor the serving of guests and handling of guest complaints.• Assist in seating or service of guests as necessary.• Possess in depth knowledge of all positions supervised.• Maintain high level of sanitation as prescribed by local health department and company standards.• As directed, perform inventory of perishable goods, non-perishable dry goods and capital goods.• Monitor inventory to ensure that stock is rotated properly to avoid loss due to spoilage and ensure reusable items are returned to stock.• Attend all departmental and organizational meetings.• Assist and implement promotional programs on an ongoing basis.• Assist with coordinating restaurant and operations with Restaurant manager, chef and other resort managers and outside vendors.• Answer telephones.• As directed, review and evaluate restaurant employees on a regular basis as designated by company policy.• Maintain and disseminate to staff effective knowledge of methods for compliance with laws governing sales of intoxicants.• Oversee handling of cash and credit card transactions.• Requisition necessary supplies.• Ensure all restaurant small ware is maintained and stored properly.• Maintain controls and pars as prescribed by management.• Write and file reports regarding activities.QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREDEDUCATION: High School education or G.E.D. Some College preferred.EXPERIENCE: 2 years of restaurant supervisory experience in a high-volume restaurant or resort restaurant operation.
