Clinical Research Assistant II

Job Summary:The Clinical Research Assistant II, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and/or senior study staff collects, processes, and enters research data in support of specified research projects. Following established protocols and procedures, they will carry out study activities and recruit and follow research subjects, as appropriate to the study objectives.Duties and Responsibilities:1. Collects data by review of medical records, interviews, or other means.2. Performs coding, entry, and verification of data collected into both paper and electronic databases.3. As appropriate to the specified position, recruits subjects into research studies and conducts follow up interviews per study protocol.4. Assists in the processing and storage of biological specimens as needed, under supervision.5. Observes all relevant risk management and infection control policies and procedures and any applicable quality improvement activities.6. Collects and reviews scientific articles. Enters references into a database.7. Prepares drafts of written documents relating to study procedures.8. Performs general office duties including typing, photocopying, inventory, and ordering.9. Performs other related duties as assigned.10. Assists in preparation of IRB submissions.11. Works evening hours and/or weekend hours as required in support of specified studies.12. Respects and safeguards the rights of human subjects, including confidentiality of information gathered.13.
