Research mechanical concepts and create system solutions using 3D modeling and simulation software. Complete calculations and test, validate, and qualify their systems and make adjustments as needed. Provide support throughout the manufacturing process of the mechanical system that they have designed.The Senior Staff Engineer, Mechanical Design works with cross functional teams of other engineers, customers, supply chain and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations.Detailed DescriptionDefine Complex AI/ML infrastructure mechanical solutions in support of system design objectives and requirements.Develop and maintain close technical relationships with suppliers/partners on product roadmaps and technologies.Guide RFQ and Celestica platform mechanical packaging solutionsAbility to rapidly develop and evaluate options and concepts for team analysisProvide effective mechanical trade-off analysis and competitive guidance to engineering teams and customers.Support System Requirements Documents (SRD) development, requirement compliance assessments, and Technical proposals.Act as a primary technical SME to customers on related mechanical topics, concepts, trade-offs, and proposals.Good knowledge/understanding of FEA/CFD analysisDeep knowledge of rack structures, MiG, Tig, Welding. Quality inspection of weldsUnderstanding of costs and tooling as well schedules of the processIdentify and resolve cross-functional and cross-discipline architectural issuesIdentify and Champion process improvement efforts as needed.Participate in standards committees and industry groups as assigned.Prepare and present technical presentations to customers, industry groups, tradeshows, etc.Maintain current on industry trends and future technology and market opportunities.Knowledge/Skills/CompetenciesMin. 10+ years of direct working experiences in electronic product mechanical design, related to compute / networking / rack level product design experience is a MUST.Experience with liquid cooling systems, modular chassis and cabled designsExperience with high volume production and high reliability and serviceable productsExperience in mechanical design in a multi-disciplinary environment, and multiple type of product development cyclesGood knowledge in material property, manufacturing process, tolerance analysis, stress analysis, thermal analysis, skills to perform kinematics analysis is a plusGood knowledge in sheet metal tooling, plastic tooling and die casting tooling.Good knowledge in industrial standards and system level environmental complianceGood experience on optical module application is a plus.Super user of Creo a must. Knowledge of SolidWorksGood skills in Microsoft office softwareBusiness travel possible (include the oversea travel)Personal AttributesThe successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual capable of working with a minimum of supervision in a dynamic team environment.
