The Retail Store Manager is pivotal in overseeing all business operations, ensuring a delightful shopping experience for Guests through fast, friendly service. You will embody and teach core values while assisting in achieving store goals and initiatives. Your role includes maintaining a stable work environment by fostering a robust Team Member experience through training, consistent coaching, and recognition. Further, you will promote a culture of safety by committing to 'Believing in Zero.' Key Responsibilities: Champion a safety culture by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment for Team Members and Guests. Foster an inviting space for our Guests and Team Members. Manage daily operations and execute the Store Operating System, ensuring the store meets performance targets and improves financial outcomes. Lead company initiatives and engage Team Members effectively. Ensure compliance with food safety requirements and manage fresh food production to grow sales while minimizing waste. Train and develop Team Members in alignment with Thorntons' training processes, exemplifying our core values. Guide Team Members on their career paths while enforcing high standards of performance through effective coaching and accountability. Assist in maintaining staffing levels by managing team schedules efficiently. Empower Team Members to handle Guest service issues proactively. Maintain positive communication to inspire Team Members to align with the Plan to Win strategy. Utilize a point-of-sale system and adhere to procedural compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Complete additional tasks as assigned. Essential Skills: Lead by example, promoting a collaborative work environment. Recognize performance, celebrate achievements, and address challenges promptly. Provide empathetic feedback and foster team camaraderie. Leverage analytical skills to identify and resolve business-related issues. Value diversity and appreciate the unique contributions of all Team Members. Requirements: Minimum one year of management experience in retail and/or food and beverage industries. Knowledge of guest service principles and personnel training processes. High School Diploma or GED required. Must possess dependable transportation and a valid driver's license preferred. Food Safety and Handling Certifications are preferred; must be obtained if not already certified. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform activities including climbing ladders, bending, reaching, and walking. Must be able to manage exposure to extreme temperatures and cleaning agents.
