The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, and repairing, and maintaining equipment to ensure smooth production operations. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, safety-first mindset, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Role and Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems. Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain high-pressure boiler systems. Diagnose and repair issues related to boilers including piping, controls and instrumentation. Respond promptly to maintenance service calls and emergency repairs. Monitor water treatment systems; treat as needed to prevent scale, corrosion, or biological growth. Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine necessary repairs or replacements. Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Install, assemble, and test new equipment as needed. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and parts inventory. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to minimize disruptions. Assist in facility maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, and lighting. Manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature variations. Qualifications and Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or certification preferred. State of Maine Boiler Operator's License (High Pressure Boiler Operator or Stationary Engineer license preferred). 2+ years of experience in industrial high-pressure boiler system maintenance (ship or shore). Familiarity with steam distribution, water treatment, and fuel handling systems. Ability to diagnose and repair equipment failures efficiently. Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and manuals. Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and best practices. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work a rotating shift schedule Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry. Current and Valid Driver's License Preferred Skills: Prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or food manufacturing environment preferred. Understanding of food safety regulations (GMP, HACCP, SQF, etc.) is a plus. Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. Experience with PLC or SCADA is a plus. Knowledge of energy efficiency practices in boiler operations.
