This role provides essential support to students and teachers by helping with daily classroom activities, reinforcing instructional goals, and contributing to a safe and welcoming school community. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, demonstrates patience and professionalism, and is committed to the mission of Catholic education.Key Responsibilities Assist the classroom teacher with daily instructional activities and routines. Support students during lessons, small-group work, and independent tasks. Provide individualized assistance to students who need additional guidance or encouragement. Help maintain a safe, orderly, and nurturing classroom environment. Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other non-instructional times as assigned. Prepare classroom materials, supplies, and learning resources as directed by the teacher. Communicate respectfully and effectively with students, teachers, and staff. Uphold school policies, safety procedures, and expectations for student behavior. Contribute to a positive school culture that reflects the values of St. Simon the Apostle Catholic School. Qualifications Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or parish setting preferred. Ability to follow directions, support instructional goals, and work collaboratively with teachers. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Patience, dependability, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment. Willingness to support the mission and values of Catholic education. Must meet Archdiocesan compliance requirements, including Safe Environment training. Additional ExpectationsThe ideal candidate demonstrates a warm, calm presence and a genuine desire to support students' academic and personal growth. This part-time role requires reliability, flexibility, and a spirit of service toward students, families, and staff.
