One of the most important goals of the Production Supervisor is to properly organize and direct the production staff to achieve a satisfactory workflow. They must also identify areas for improvement and organize training opportunities for their team. This position is a working Supervisor who will be working side-by-side with their crew.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupervising operations within the facility to achieve higher output. Organizing training and educational manuals for the production team. Assisting in the recruitment and onboarding of new hires. Develops, implements, and enforces operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and revenue. Organizing, monitoring, and prioritizing tasks to meet production goals. Evaluating various stations of the production operation to ensure optimum efficiency. Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR SUCCESSKnowledge of manufacturing tools and equipment. Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent organization, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic. Ability to create and adhere to production processes. Ability to write reports legibly and accurately. Relevant training and certification in industrial production, engineering, or any related field. BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREDHigh School Diploma or GED A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing facility, working in production AND one of the following: Bachelor's degree plus 2 years production supervisor or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment. Associates degree plus 3 years production supervisor or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment. HS Diploma or GED plus 3 years production supervisor or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment. All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident WE VALUEAbility to anticipate and understand customer needs and provide guidance Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills to handle difficult and sensitive matters. Strong project management skills. Exposure to difficult or complex projects a plus.
