We are seeking a licensed Psychologist for a locum tenens assignment in Rhode Island, beginning Dec 1, 2025, for a 115-day contract. This opportunity offers day shifts, Monday through Friday, providing care primarily to nursing home-level patients with low acuity in a long-term care environment.Job DetailsLocation: Rhode IslandFacility Type: Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (operating as a long-term care facility)Start Date: Dec 1, 2025LOA: 115 daysProvider Type Needed: PsychologistSchedule: MondayFriday, 8:30am5pm or 8am4:30pmResponsibilities and DutiesProvide clinical supervision to Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs)Develop behavior plans and offer education on behavioral interventions to unit staffAttend psychology and multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, along with other relevant meetingsConduct neuropsychological evaluations such as WAIS, and tests of attention, memory, language, and executive function (no more than one evaluation per day)Maintain a 50/50 split of testing and therapyRun 12 group therapy sessions as part of the programManage a variable caseload, with counseling sessions lasting 3040 minutes and group sessions 5060 minutesParticipate actively as a member of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with medical, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, and psychology staffProvide care to patients with psychiatric and medical backgrounds, including those with major mental health illness, some dementia, distal muscular dystrophy, and many traumatic brain injury casesAdditional InformationPh.D. or Psy.D. required, with experience in psychiatric or medical settingsBackground in neuropsychology preferredFamiliarity with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is desiredRhode Island psychology license requiredBenefitsStrong compensationTravel-related expenses coveredA-rated medical malpractice insurance providedDedicated recruiter for future travel opportunitiesWhat are Locum Tenens Jobs?Locum tenens jobs, sometimes referred to as travel assignments, are contract positions that help meet patient care needs at various healthcare facilities and hospitals for a defined period.
