Join our team as a Utilities Construction Inspector In this pivotal role, you will ensure that all utility installations on interstate widening projects meet regulatory standards and project specifications. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual who is passionate about maintaining high-quality construction practices. Duties/Responsibilities: Read and interpret roadway and structure plans, contract specifications, and schedules. Monitor on-site construction activities and perform inspections to ensure compliance with project plans. Prepare daily field reports documenting the construction progress and quality assurance. Meet scheduling and attendance requirements with attention to detail. Understand and interpret schematic drawings for accurate inspections. Inspect the installation of all utilities as part of the project. Work collaboratively with contractors to ensure successful project execution. Education/Experience: High School Diploma or a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline is preferred. 3+ years of experience in utilities inspection for interstate improvement projects. Familiarity with GDOT manuals, specifications, and protocols. Knowledgeable in traffic control plans, including traffic shifts, detours, and lane closures. Understanding of the properties and characteristics of materials used in construction. Valid driver's license and insurable driving record are mandatory. Experience with GDOT Utility Coordination procedures during construction is highly valued. Physical Requirements: Ability to navigate construction sites and perform field assignments effectively. Must be able to carry necessary instruments and equipment. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed. Ability to work in variable climate conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
