The shift supervisor assists in identifying, scheduling, and ensuring the completion of appropriate training and development of their staff. They are responsible for the completion of production schedules, scheduling of maintenance within their department, and overall efficiency of the department. It is the expectation of all leadership to lead as a positive example and continually promote the visions and mission of West Point Dairy Products, LLC d/b/a Alcam Creamery.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Comply and enforce all applicable good manufacturing, safety, and quality assurance practices. Recruit, motivate, and discipline production personnel, and work with management on terminations or promotions. Constant monitoring of work instructions, processes, and equipment to continually improve the overall efficiency and costs throughout the department Achieve production goals and schedules Employee scheduling Arrange training for all new production employees. Verify quality control items such as product weights, coding, packaging, etc. Maintain proper documentation in all record-keeping formats. Provide and maintain a positive teamwork environment. Basic maintenance and troubleshooting Other duties as assigned by management. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to adapt effectively within a continually changing and demanding environment. Exhibit the ability to learn and apply new skills. Must be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to communicate effectively in order to maintain high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency. Ability to read and comprehend standard operating procedures and company guidelines in order to maintain regulatory compliance. Takes responsibility for department activities; provides regular performance feedback; continually works to improve leadership skills. Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Word Ability to operate and troubleshoot a majority of equipment within the department Position RequirementsEducation/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Associate degree in Supervisory Management or related field preferred or two years of supervisory experience.
