For nearly 20 years, we have consistently achieved results on complex issues, demonstrating that bipartisan cooperation is essential for lasting solutions.Position OverviewThe Bipartisan Policy Center's Economic and Health Policy Programs seek a Quantitative Consultant to assist with in-house economic modeling and data analysis capabilities. This role will support BPC's mission to advance bipartisan solutions in fiscal policy, tax policy, retirement security, and Social Security reform, among other developing policy areas. Working closely with BPC staff, the analyst will produce accessible, data-driven insights that inform policy debates, engage key stakeholders, and enhance BPC's visibility and impact across Capitol Hill, the financial industry, national media, and philanthropic partners.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with BPC staff to leverage data to elevate BPC's influence in legislative discussions and support strategic efforts around economic and health policy. Develop and apply quantitative modeling to assess the: Fiscal and distributional impacts of entitlement program reform proposals, including, but not limited to, current Social Security and Medicare options. State of the bond market to monitor debt issuance, interest rate trends, and macroeconomic dynamics, among other indicators. Revenue and distributional effects of new and existing federal tax proposals. Micro- and macroeconomic effects of reforms aimed at expanding access to workplace retirement plans and improving plan structures. Assist BPC in technical discussions with relevant policy and technical experts (e.g., actuaries, financial market analysts, actuaries, physicians, econometricians). Qualifications Advanced degree (master's or PhD) in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics or a related quantitative field. Minimum 5 years of experience in economic modeling or fiscal policy analysis. Ability to translate technical findings into accessible formats for various external stakeholders and audiences. Fluency in statistical modelling and data visualization tools (e.g., SAS, Python, Stata, R) and experience working with large, complex federal data sets. Strong understanding of the federal budget and relevant micro- and macroeconomic indicators. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with commitment to bipartisan, evidence-based policymaking. BPC's Managing Director of Economic Policy will manage the consultant's contract. The contract ceiling is budgeted at up to $10,000 per month for six months, with the potential to extend the period of performance.Work ScheduleCandidates may either perform duties in a remote or hybrid capacity.
