The Senior Civil Designer will function as the lead designer on a variety of engineering design projects related to residential and site infrastructure development. They will conduct and coordinate assigned engineering work with other project teams, monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and standards, and ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned projects.Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.Extensive knowledge of CAD standards and advanced Civil 3D functionalityDevelop, modify and review models, plans, details and drawings of engineering systems and design components according to established standardsDemonstrate a comprehensive understanding of residential and site projects of advanced complexity in relation to overall site drainage, grading, and infrastructure constraintsImplement specific project design criteria and coordinate with project design teams consisting of Engineers, CAD Designers and Technicians, and Sub-consultants (if necessary) to successfully complete a projectResponsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the design and technical aspects of assigned projectsCoordinate and assist the Project Manager(s) with overall project schedules and budget constraints for assigned projects through completionResponsible for Quality Control review of design elements and overall project deliverables prior to external releaseIdentify, interpret and resolve technical project issues with minimal oversightAbility to analyze, interpret, and stay abreast of latest regulations and criteria for local, state, and federal regulatory agenciesConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company*Supervisory Responsibilities *May have supervisory responsibilitiesin the Operations Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Education and/or ExperienceAssociate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical schoolCertification in CAD software and specific Civil 3D platform10 years' experience related to specific CAD and Civil 3D software required, with at least 5 years' experience in detailed land development engineering; GIS experience is preferredAbility to train and mentor CAD Drafters/Technicians and Engineering InternsAbility to coordinate and lead multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously to make decisions with an understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve successful results and deadlinesAbility to work both independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team with input and support from the Manager(s)Thorough knowledge and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft office platformsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office and emailPreferred QualificationsWillingness to learn and expand responsibilitiesCome join a winning team with a Fortune 500 company We are growing fast and are looking for enthusiastic attitudes and team players to join our success.
