Senior Estimator – Commercial ConstructionLocation: Pittsburgh, PennsylvaniaEmployment Type: Full-time, PermanentWork Arrangement: On-site We are partnering with a well-established and growing commercial general contractor in the Pittsburgh, PA market that is looking to add an experienced Senior Estimator to its preconstruction team. This is a critical hire for the business, supporting a strong pipeline of secured work and long-term growth across Western Pennsylvania.The company delivers a wide range of ground-up and complex commercial construction projects, working with repeat clients across multiple sectors.The Role -As Senior Estimator, you will lead full-cycle estimating efforts from early conceptual budgets through final bid and GMP. You will collaborate closely with preconstruction, operations, and executive leadership to deliver accurate, competitive, and strategic pricing.Key Responsibilities -Prepare conceptual, schematic, and hard-bid estimates for commercial construction projectsPerform detailed quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and scope reviewsDevelop bid packages, solicit subcontractor pricing, and conduct bid levelingPrepare budgets, value engineering options, and cost studiesSupport GMP development and participate in preconstruction meetingsReview drawings, specifications, and contract documents for accuracy and riskWork closely with project management teams to ensure smooth handoff from preconstruction to constructionMentor junior estimators and contribute to the growth of the estimating teamProject Experience -Typical projects include:Commercial office and corporate facilitiesHealthcare and medical buildingsEducation and institutional projectsIndustrial, warehouse, and distribution facilitiesMixed-use and large-scale commercial developmentsIdeal Background -6–10+ years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractorStrong background in ground-up and complex commercial constructionExperience with conceptual budgeting, hard bids, and GMP workProficiency with estimating and preconstruction tools (e.g. Sage, Bluebeam, Procore, OST, Excel)Strong understanding of construction means and methodsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsConsistent, stable employment historyWhat's on Offer -Competitive base salary aligned with market ratesPerformance-based bonus structureComprehensive benefits packageLong-term career opportunity with a reputable contractorStrong pipeline of upcoming and secured projects in the Pittsburgh market
