As the Service Technician I, you will influence and guide the experience for those that visit a DTN owned or managed community.
Job SummaryOur Service Technicians maintain the physical condition of each community.
Your responsibilities
will include, but not limited to, maintenance and preventative maintenance of all building systems, completing resident work orders, maintaining community curb appeal, and preparing homes for new move-ins. We do these activities with respect for each other and the DTN brand. As a Service Technician III, your primary responsibilities include:Perform resident work orders daily ensuring the highest standards are maintained for the residents' home and communityProvide regular communication as needed to Service Manager related to parts needs, issues with building systems that need support or assistance, and property immediate needs as they are discoveredMaintain property grounds through daily inspection, cleaning, maintenance, snow removal (in season) and preventative carePerform general cleaning and upkeep requests as directed by Community Manager and Service ManagerPerform daily pool/spa inspections(in season) to ensure proper water chemistry and cleanliness of pool/spa area, and to ascertain needed repairs or improvementsMaintain an organized, clean, and safe work areaComplete new move-in turnover to include painting, cleaning, and general maintenanceComply with all established site safety and hazardous communication standardsService and maintain independently all building systems and building components including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall installation and repair, HVAC systems, and appliancesPerform site inspections as directed by Community Manager and Service ManagerMaintain accurate records for all work orders, preventative maintenance and site inspectionsTrain Service Technician I and II team members as requested by Service ManagerDemonstrate leadership in all interactions and in performance of essential job dutiesAbide by all local, state and federal Fair Housing guidelinesAssist Service Manager as requested in his/her absencePerform on call as part of on call rotation scheduleCore Candidate Qualities:High school diploma and/or equivalent work experience3+ years' experience as a maintenance repair technician, building contractor and/or trade school certificate of completionProficient in repairing apartment building systems and maintenance to all components including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC and appliances demonstrated through passing maintenance application testingHVAC knowledge and Universal EPA certification requiredStrong verbal and written communication skillsThe ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with residents, coworkers, supervisors and vendorsDesire to learn and grow within companyThe ability to exert 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds consistentlyAvailability to respond to after-hours emergencies and on call work ordersBasic tools required for maintenanceLanguage skills: Ability to read and interpret directions, manuals, instructions and company documentsAbility to write for routine reporting and correspondenceAbility to work a flexible work schedule any day of the weekUtilize electronic devices including tablet and computerCan do attitude and collaborative mindset - We all succeed by working as a teamAn eye for detail - Our properties and team members are representing the DTN brandDesire to provide great customer outcomesProficient with computers and various software platforms including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPointExperience using industry software is preferredReliable transportation to get to work daily and conduct daily job responsibilities Benefits:Health, Vision, and Dental CoverageCompetitive 401K packagePaid Time OffPaid Holidays8 Hours Paid Annual Volunteer TimeEducation ReimbursementMileage ReimbursementRental Discount at Select DTN PropertiesOngoing Training, Mentorship and Job ShadowingGrowth OpportunityExpected Schedule: Monday - Friday (40 Hours)On-Call: Rotating week long on-call duty, bonus pay includedIf you are interested in joining our company but do not feel you meet the requirements for this position, APPLY anyway We are always looking for talented and motivated individuals to join our team in various departments.
